Areas of Practice
Mr. McKinniss has been practicing law for five years, and specializes in Employment Law, Immigration, Personal Injury, representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants. He serves Los Angeles County with offices in Beverly Hills and San Gabriel.
Mr. McKinniss is no stranger to litigation; his first court appearance, for his first case, was a court trial. At any given moment he has two dozen or more cases in full-blown litigation. He is proudest of his ability to negotiate good outcomes on behalf of his clients, always from the strongest position he can procure for them.
Civil Litigation Experience
• Labor relations and employment - Mr. McKinniss has focused primarily on Wrongful termination, whistle-blowing, wage and hour disputes, and retaliation, both as a plaintiff’s and defense counsel.
• Torts, including premises liability, personal injury and defamation – Mr. McKinniss has handled both the prosecution and defense of these types of claims throughout his practice.
• Immigration and residency – for approximately 3 years Mr. McKinniss focused almost exclusively on Immigration Suits, and has substantial knowledge in this area
• Trial Experience - Last year, Mr. McKinniss represented a plaintiff in a five day jury trial for wrongful termination / retaliation and harassment. This was in Leung v. Millenium Biltmore Hotels, Inc., Case BC323270. The defendant was found liable as to the Harassment and Failure to Prevent Harassment causes of action and my client obtained a significant award from the jury.
